LUCKY NO. 13: Bobby Labonte will make his 13th NASCAR Busch Series start at Dover (Del.) International Speedway on September 22 for the RoadLoans.com 200. Driving his self-owned car, Labonte visited victory lane at “The Monster Mile” in 1997. Labonte also has four top-five and four top-10 finishes at the high-banked mile.
HOMETOWN HERO: Brandon Reynolds, 26, the tire specialist on the No. 77 Dollar General stores Chevrolet was based at Dover (Del.) Air Force Base where he served for six years. “When I was 18-years-old I joined the Air Force,” said Brandon Reynolds. “I wanted to do something different and see the world.” Reynolds served as a mechanic on a C-5 Aircraft, one of the largest aircrafts in the world and the largest airlifter in the Air Force inventory. Anyone who has visited Dover (Del.) International Speedway has seen the C-5 fly over the one-mile track following the National Anthem. Reynolds was able to fly on the C-5 as the aircraft’s mechanic for the last two year of his service.
