WIX FILTERS LAP LEADER NOTES FOR THE DIAMOND HILL PLYWOOD 200 NASCAR BUSCH SERIES RACE AT DARLINGTON RACEWAY, MAY 11, 2007.
Jason Leffler led once for 17 laps earn WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in tonight’s Diamond Hill Plywood 200. Leffler has now led six times in three races for a total of 57 laps and led for the first time since the Pepsi 300 at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway (race No. 7).
Leffler and Mike Wallace and now tied for the lead (3-3) in the overall WIX Filters Lap Leader Standings.
Leffler finished sixth in tonight’s race, the best by a Busch Series regular. He scored his third top-10 finish of the season.
LEFFLER QUOTES: “I had a great car. I’ve just got to thank all the guys at Braun Racing and Great Clips. That’s where we need to run and we’re capable of doing it, we just haven’t done it. It’s good to get up there. It’s a good morale booster for the team. The guys needed it. It’s an unbelievable difference between the car running 10th and running second. Clean air is everything. That’s all you hear about nowadays and it’s true. Our car just ran really good once we got up there. I’m really proud. Just glad to finish this one. Winning the WIX money is perfect for me.”
