PREVIEW: KYLE BUSCH (NO. 5 DELPHI CHEVROLET)
VENUE: DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY (2.5-MILE TRI-OVAL)
CIRCUIT: NASCAR BUSCH SERIES (RACE 19 OF 35)
EVENT: FRIDAY, JULY 6, 2007 (100 LAPS, 250 MILES)
MILESTONE RACE: Kyle Busch will make his 100th career NASCAR Busch Series start Friday night at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. His first career start occurred in May 2003 at Lowe's Motor Speedway, where he qualified fifth and finished second. Since that day, Busch has earned seven victories, 10 poles, 29 top-five finishes and 47 top-10s. He set seven Busch Series rookie records and remains the youngest Rookie of the Year in series history.
WELCOME BACK: Busch, driver of the No. 5 Delphi Chevrolet, will return to Busch Series competition this weekend at Daytona following a month-long hiatus from the circuit. Busch finished eighth in his most recent Busch Series outing at Lowe's Motor Speedway in May.
DAYTONA STATS: In seven career Busch Series races at Daytona, Busch has earned five top-10 starts, but has yet to finish inside the top 10. Busch led 47 laps there in February before a faulty fuel pump ended the team's day. He posted a runner-up finish in his No. 5 Nextel Cup car last July.
LAP LEADER: Although he has only competed in 10 Busch Series races this season, Busch has led 536 laps, second only to current point leader Carl Edwards. Edwards has led 648 laps while running a full Busch Series schedule in 2007.
DELPHI ON THE HOOD: Delphi, a leading global supplier of mobile electronics and transportation systems, will be back on the hood of the No. 5 Busch Series Chevrolet this weekend. Delphi was the primary sponsor at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March when Busch narrowly missed his first victory of the season and also appeared at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway in April.
CHASSIS 318: Crew chief Mike Bumgarner has selected Hendrick Motorsports Chassis No. 451 for Friday's Busch Series race at Daytona International Speedway. The car has not been raced or tested.

KYLE BUSCH, DRIVER OF THE NO. 5 DELPHI CHEVROLET: (ON RETURNING TO DAYTONA IN THE BUSCH SERIES.) "We've had great Busch cars all season long, but haven't closed the deal. Getting back to Daytona, we dominated that race in the spring -- the first half of it anyway -- then we had a fuel pump issue. Hopefully, we'll have a car that is capable of running like that one, which we wrecked at Talladega. I'm sure we can go back and try to run wide open the whole race. Daytona is a place now where handling is a big issue in the Busch Series and you really have to keep throttle on."
BUSCH: (THIS IS YOUR 100TH CAREER BUSCH SERIES START. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU?) "It's not really a huge deal. It's just a number. For as many races as I've run, I guess I don't have enough wins. That's me talking, of course. We'd like to go out there (at Daytona) and have a good solid day. Not tear anything up and go on to the next one."
BUSCH: (ARE THERE ANY RACES OR PARTICULAR MOMENTS THAT STAND OUT TO YOU IN YOUR PREVIOUS 99 STARTS?) "There are two that stick out. Kentucky from my rookie year in 2004 when we wrecked in practice and had to go to the backup car. We didn't have a lap on it, started dead last and came all the way up through the field and ended up winning the race. The other one was Michigan, where we led about every single lap. On every restart we'd pull away from Mark Martin, who is, in my opinion, the greatest Busch Series driver there is, and won by about three or four seconds."
