DAVE BLANEY HOPES TO REGAIN MOMENTUM AT THE SITE OF HIS SEASON BEST FINISH:
Bad luck has plagued Dave Blaney and the No.10 team in recent weeks but both are hoping a return to the site of the season’s best finish of second will be just the good luck charm the team needs. Returning to Daytona International Speedway at the half-way point of the season reminds Blaney of his success at the season opener. Dave Blaney started 11th and finished second after battling back from an early race spin to make a run for the win. He and the team are ready to get that one position that eluded them and conquer this restrictor plate track, bringing home a win for Braun Racing and Toyota!
Dave Blaney has the patience and determination it takes to master the intense racing of Daytona International Speedway. In Busch Series competition, Blaney has logged only three starts at the famed Florida superspeedway. He started in the top-10 twice, 10th in 1998 and fifth in 1999. He also has one top-five finish to his credit in February 2007. He has also competed in 15 Nextel Cup races in Daytona.
· Blaney and the No. 10 Braun Racing team welcome back sponsor Seymour of Sycamore on board for the Winn-Dixie 250. Seymour also sponsored Bill Elliot’s effort at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in the No.32 earlier this season.
BLANEY ON RACING AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY:
“I think this race at Daytona is just what we need to get this season back on track. We started off the year really strong with a good finish at Daytona and in recent weeks we’ve had some problems that have really hurt us. There is no doubt that Toyota builds great motors for these events and our team did such a great job preparing a car for Daytona in February, I’m sure we will be just as strong this time around. I’ll have Jason and Brian (Vickers) as teammates so hopefully the three of us can link up and drive straight to the front.”
EQUIPMENT INFORMATION:
The No. 10 Seymour Paint team will compete with chassis #05 in this Friday night’s Winn-Dixie 250. This chassis was converted to a Toyota in the off season. It has not been raced this season but was used as the back-up car in Daytona earlier this year.
