Camping World 300 - WIX Filters Lap Leader Notes

WIX FILTERS LAP LEADER NOTES FOR THE CAMPING WORLD 300 NASCAR BUSCH SERIES RACE AT CALIFORNIA SPEEDWAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2007.

  • Brian Vickers earned WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in tonight’s Camping World 300. Vickers led twice for 37 laps and took the honor for the second time this season. He had led five times in two races for a total of 56 laps.

  • Vickers was credited with a 27th-place finish after being involved in an accident with 17 laps to go.

  • Jason Leffler and Mike Wallace (4-4) are tied for the lead in the overall WIX Filters Lap Leader Standings.

  • VICKERS QUOTES: “That’s cool to win the WIX award. We had a real good car. We just got caught up in the wreck there at the end. We weren’t as good as we needed to be at the start but we were okay. We were good enough to keep up and then on the long run we were awesome. We were absolutely awesome. The team did a good job in the pits making good calls. I think it was the right thing to take four tires but it put us back in traffic and those guys got kind of wild there. Unfortunately we got caught up in the wreck.” IT LOOKED LIKE YOU JUST RAN OUT OF ROOM. “There was nowhere to go. The guys in front of me were the ones that got squeezed and wrecked. I just had nowhere to go.”
