JEFF BURTON QUOTES:
DO YOU ENJOY DOING DOUBLE DUTY IN THE BUSCH AND CUP SERIES?
“I think it helps me. Number one, I enjoy racing. I think the more that I can race in these types of cars at this level the better. I don’t think that there is any question that it makes me better as a driver but you can do too much. You can over stack your schedule so that it becomes a distraction. You’ve just got to be careful how many races you do. An 18 race schedule is actually a little more than I wanted to do but Holiday Inn is such a great sponsor. There will be a lot of information flowing back and forth between my Busch and Cup teams, so under that scenario running more races is a good thing.”
WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF THE NO. 29 HOLIDAY INN TEAM WINNING THE OWNER’S BUSCH SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP WITH TWO DIFFERENT DRIVERS?
“We should be in the hunt. We have put a lot of effort into becoming better than we were last year. There is a tremendous amount of desire to win the championship. This will be the first time that I have co-driven all year long with another driver. I drove a little bit last year with Kevin Harvick, but this is the first time that I am collectively going for a championship and I am looking forward to that. I think that it is going to be interesting. On the Saturday’s that I am not running the Busch race, it’s going to make it a lot more fun for me to watch and pull for Scott.”
SCOTT WIMMER AND YOU SEEM LIKE A GOOD MATCH.
“I am very excited about working with Scott. We have a lot of respect for each other and our driving characteristics are very similar. I think that our risks versus rewards decision making is very similar. I had the opportunity to test with Scott this winter and he is very talented. I know that he can get it done. I think that this is going to be a good program for him because it is going to show a lot of people what he can do. I think that Scott and I will be a really good match this season.”
