RUNNER-UP FINISH GIVES DAVE BLANEY MOMENTUM FOR CALIFORNIA:
In his first race piloting a Toyota in the NASCAR Busch Series, Dave Blaney was quick to impress. Sustaining early damage at Daytona International Speedway, Blaney and the Braun Racing team battled back to contend for the win. Running out of laps to make it happen, Blaney settled for second but is still hungry for the checkered flag!
Carrying momentum from that second place finish, Blaney will rely on his extensive experience at California Speedway to bring home another strong showing. He has logged eight starts in the Nextel Cup Series on the Fontana two-mile track but Saturday’s Stater Bros. 300 will mark only his third career Busch Series start at California Speedway. In his two previous starts, (1999) and (2000), Blaney started 13th and 28th and finished 28th and 18th respectively.
Blaney and the No.10 Braun Racing team welcome sponsor ABF back on board for the Stater Bros 300 at California Speedway. The ABF U-PACK Moving #10 promotes ABF’s self-service moving solution designed for do-it-yourself consumers. U-Pack® combines the economy of rental truck moving with the convenience of full-service moving. ABF U-PACK Moving will be the primary sponsor of Dave Blaney for five races in the 2007 season.
BLANEY ON RACING AT CALIFORNIA SPEEDWAY:
“It was such an exciting race last week, and I believe we have the tools to repeat the same performance this weekend. Trent and the guys build really fast cars; I think we proved that last week coming from 40th back up to second. Daytona is more of a wild card in the season, but with California, you can better control what happens to you. I believe we will be just as strong this weekend and hopefully we can get that win that eluded us last week.”
EQUIPMENT INFORMATION:
The No. 10 ABF U-PACK Moving team will compete with chassis #24 in this weekend’s Orbitz 300. This is a brand new race car the team tested at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in February.
