USG Durock 300 - WIX Filters Lap Leader Notes

WIX FILTERS LAP LEADER NOTES FOR THE USG DUROCK 300 NASCAR BUSCH SERIES RACE AT CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY, JULY 14, 2007.

  • Aric Almirola earned WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in today’s USG DUROCK 300. Almirola has now led a total of 110 laps in three races this season. He led a NASCAR Busch Series event for the first time since Milwaukee (race No. 17). Almirola led today’s race once for one lap and claimed WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors for the second time this season.

  • Almirola was credited with a 38th-place finish after starting third in today’s race.

  • Mike Wallace leads Jason Leffler by one race (4-3) in the overall WIX Filters Lap Leader Standings.

  • ALMIROLA QUOTES: WHAT HAPPENED? “I made our day really long. We got a little behind there on that second set of tires. We came in and pitted and I tried to get too much back out of it and went three-wide down the frontstretch and I guess the 47 didn’t know I was out there or what but I hit the wall. Four laps later I cut down a right front and hit the wall some more. We tore up the suspension and tore up the car a little bit and just made our day really long.”
