Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 12 Kodak Dodge Charger, will make his third Busch Series start at Chicagoland Speedway and his 34th in the series.
Newman has started both of his races at Chicago on the pole and he has an average finish of 14.5. He finished 26th in 2001 and third in 2005.
Newman has led 202 laps in the two events. He has completed 397 laps of a possible 400, giving him a 99.2 percent completion rate.
Crew chief Matt Gimbel and the Kodak team are taking PBC-016 as their primary car for Saturday's USG Durock 300. The new car has never even been tested. The backup Dodge is PBC-007, which was last used at Darlington in May when Newman finished 11th after early problems in the pits stemming from an on-track incident. He also drove the car at Bristol.
