ML Motorsports Will Run Partial Busch Series Schedule in 07

ML Motorsports has announced that it will run a partial NASCAR Busch Series schedule in 2007 with 26-year-old Iowa native Justin Diercks as its driver. Diercks and the Warsaw, Indiana-based stock car team will compete in 19 of the 35 NBS races, beginning with the season opener in Daytona on February 17. In addition, Diercks will compete for the Raybestos Rookie of the Year.

Diercks, driving the No. 70 Chevy for ML Motorsports competed in seven NBS races during the 2006 season. His best start was 28th at Richmond International Raceway in the Circuit City 250, while his best finish was 28th at Gateway International Raceway in the Busch Silver Celebration 250.

Diercks is a two-time champion in the NASCAR AutoZone Elite/Midwest Series, winning the title in 2004 and 2005. ML Motorsports was founded in 1999 and ran five full seasons in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. The team won four ARCA races in 2005 in just 12 starts. In all five full seasons of ARCA competition, ML Motorsports' driver finished in the top five in the final season point standings.

Handling the crew chief duties for the 19 NBS races will be Tom Sokoloski, who has experience in ARCA, NBS, and the Nextel Cup Series. In ARCA, Sokoloski won 46 races, 41 of the wins, as well as three season championships, coming with driver Tim Steele.
