MOORESVILLE, N.C.(January 22, 2006) – With excitement and anticipation, all eyes were on the Toyota camp during pre-season testing at Daytona International Speedway. Leaving nothing to the imagination, Dave Blaney and his No.32 Braun Racing team proved that Toyota can back up their reputation for performance. On Friday, the first day of Busch Series testing in Daytona, Blaney ran the sixth fasted lap of the day. In the afternoon session on Saturday, he found even more TRD horsepower, posting the second fastest lap at a time of 47.928 at 187.782 mph. Blaney backed that up on Sunday morning posting the second fastest time in the morning session by doing a mock qualifying run. Throughout the three day test, Blaney was the fastest Toyota with Braun Racing’s other entry, the No.38, the second fastest Camry on Saturday.

Helping Blaney capitalize on Toyota power is crew chief Trent Owens. The duo have experienced success before when they stunned the NASCAR community by taking the checkered flag at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in October 2006.

“We have every reason to be excited about how the test in Daytona turned out,” said Dave Blaney. “With Daytona you really never know what you have until the race starts but what we learned at the test gives us confidence.”

Toyota’s inaugural season in the Busch Series is one Braun Racing is happy to be a part of. As one of two Busch Series teams Toyota will be competing with, Braun Racing’s team members are excited to have the support of such a proven competitor.
