Tim Sauter Ready for High Banks
NASCAR’S Largest Track Next for Busch Series

This week, the NASCAR Busch Series heads to it’s longest race (312 Miles) at the longest and fastest of all the tracks they visit this year. For veteran driver Tim Sauter, the return to Talladega marks the return to the site of his best finish of 2005. The McGill Motorsports team hopes the return to restrictor plate racing will get the team back on track with the start of the 2006 season where they finished 19th at Daytona back in February.

“This year started out just how we had planned with the top-20 finish at Daytona. Since then we have had some bad luck, some unfortunate accidents and have really struggled to get caught back up. I’m real excited to get back into this car. We know what we had when we left Daytona, but a lot of other guys had their cars tore-up at the end of that race, so they are bringing untested cars this week. I think this will help us to work on fine-tuning rather than wholesale set-ups,” explained Sauter.

The McGill Motorsports Monte Carlo will sport the silver, black and orange paint scheme of Lester Buildings again this Saturday at the Aarons 312. Tom Borgman, Marketing Director of Lester Buildings remains pleased with the decision to partner with McGill Motorsports. “We’ve had some trying moments this year, most notably the wreck at Las Vegas, but we are real pleased with our partnership with both Tim Sauter and John and Nancy McGill. I think the best for this team is yet to come. One good run should get us back into the top-30 in owners points and that will make qualifying day less tense again here at the office,” Borgman smiled. “Our 2006 building giveaway with BGNRacing.com is going well, our entries are far ahead of last year and we are trying to keep that promotion in front of the NASCAR fans. With ads in Speedway Illustrated starting with the May issue, we are hoping that will raise the awareness of our building giveaway and our motorsports commitment even more. Of course, running and finishing well on the track is critical to the success of the program too!” he added.

Tim will be joining twenty-five other NASCAR drivers at Race Fever. A fundraiser benefiting the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind held at the speedway Friday evening. This will be Tim’s 93rd start in the NBS and 98th career NASCAR start.

This will be the fourth time Tim has competed at Talladega in the NBS.
April 2001 – Subway 300 – Finished 15th, started 7th.
April 2002 – Aaron’s 312 – Finished 32nd, (accident) started 10th.
April 2005 – Aaron’s 312 – Finished 12th, started 36th.

Tim’s thoughts on the Talladega Superspeedway: “I’ve had some good runs at Talladega in the past few years. I’ve tried to run these restrictor races smart and don’t get in trouble early. There is plenty of time to get into position the last third of the race. As we’ve seen already this season, finishing races is more important than pushing too hard early."

This will be the third time McGill Motorsports has competed at Talladega in the NBS.
April 2004 – Aaron’s 312 – Driver, Steve Grissom, Finished 18th, started 25th.
April 2005 – Aaron’s 312 – Driver, Stanton Barrett, Finished 23rd, started 16th.

Ricky Pearson’s thoughts on the Talladega Superspeedway and the Aarons 312: “Daytona was just what we needed to start the year. We are bringing the same car back from that race. We’ve made a few changes in the crew, and the pit stops were real good last week at Phoenix, if we can do the same this week, I think we will be able to better our Daytona finish.”
