Emerson Radio 250 - Clint Bowyer Notes

Bowyer Brings Red Hot Chili Peppers to Race at Richmond

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 5, 2006) – As part of the Chevy Rock & Roll race weekend, the No. 2 ACDelco Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS driven by Clint Bowyer will carry the colors of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and their new album during the Emerson Radio 250 at Richmond International Raceway.

Bowyer, who earned the pole for last weekend’s Ameriquest 300 at California Speedway, has started from the front row in two of his three Busch Series appearances at Richmond. With a strong history at the tricky short track and the participation of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bowyer and his ACDelco Real Car Guys crew are aiming to improve upon their previous best finish of seventh at Richmond.

“I love short-track racing,” said Bowyer, who currently ranks fourth in the 2006 Busch Series standings. “It all goes back to what you grew up racing on. The short tracks seem to suit my racing style, and I’m really comfortable racing on them.”

A perennial fan favorite, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have sold more than 50 million albums, and have earned seven multi-platinum albums and eight No.1 Modern Rock hits. In May, the group issued their two-CD set, Stadium Arcadium, which debuted in the No.1 spot in 28 countries and features the hit single “Dani California.” The album has already been certified platinum in the United States.

“I’m definitely a fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and I’m looking forward to having them on my ACDelco Chevrolet for this weekend,” Bowyer said. “I really like the group and their music. Who doesn’t like the Red Hot Chili Peppers? I got to meet the band at Charlotte earlier this year and had a lot of fun talking to them and listening to their show at the track.”

Clint Bowyer about Richmond International Raceway…

About running special paint schemes during the Chevy Rock & Roll race weekend: “This is the second year I’ve been a part of the Chevy Rock & Roll race weekend, and it’s a really unique event. It’s neat that Chevrolet adds the rock and roll aspect to the race. I think it brings a lot to the table, especially seeing all the cool paint schemes. I’m really looking forward to being a part of it again this year.”
