O’QUINN: “It was awesome, man. All these guys did a good job. We came out of the pits making up spots. The car handled awesome tonight. I’ve got to thank everybody here on this team. We had just an awesome effort tonight. We started back in 20th and worked our way up through there. We kept it in one piece. I just can’t say enough for these guys. This is the best finish that we’ve had all year and hopefully one of many more.” HOW MUCH CAN YOU LEARN RACING A GUY LIKE JEFF BURTON? “I tell you, those guys run cleaner than anybody you race, really. We had some issues there at the end. We probably could have had a top-five. Some of the lapped cars race you real hard but I like racing with those guys. I learned a lot. I followed my teammate Biffle a lot there and learned a lot from following him. I enjoy doing it. It’s fun when you can get up there and battle with them. The last couple of weeks we’ve had good cars, we’ve just had freak circumstances go wrong. We’re digging hard. It’s this point in the year where we need to get things turned around. We all sat down and said that we’re going to give it 110 percent and that’s what we did tonight. We’re going to keep doing it.” HOW BIG OF A BOOST IS THIS FOR YOUR CONFIDENCE? “It’s a big boost of confidence, really. It seemed like there about a month ago we had three races where we finished with two top-10s and had a really good run going at Kentucky. It just seemed like our momentum was just rolling. Hopefully we’ll get that back after tonight I’m excited about next week. I haven’t ran many road courses. It just pumps me up to run like that. It gets you kind of excited [smiles].”

BURNEY LAMAR, No. 77 DOLLAR GENERAL CHEVROLET: “I think we had a lot better car than 16th. We got spun there by the 90. The 88 checked-up and there was nothing I could do about it. I checked-up and he got into the back of me. It was a racing incident. I know Gilliland is clean driver, a friend of mine. But it’s unfortunate because I think we had a better car than 16th but we’re just happy coming from like 32nd back up there to 16th.” WAS IT A DECENT NIGHT CONSIDERING ALL THAT HAPPENED TO YOU? “I guess so, considering that three races ago we were finishing 23rd and stuff and I think we had a lot better car than that. We’ll take that and know that we’re moving forward, making progress and we’ll call that a good night.”

MARK McFARLAND, No. 88 NAVY CHEVROLET: “It was up and down. We started way in the back and every pit stop came in and adjusted on it and the guys made it a lot better. But it really wasn’t right so we just tried to salvage what we could. We had a lot of people from the NAVY here so it was a pretty exciting race for them.” HOW MANY STOPS DID YOU MAKE EARLY IN THE RACE? “We probably stopped 10 times the whole race [laughs]. It was fun. We changed so much stuff. The jack bolts are worn out. It was a total team effort. They kept working on it for me to try to get it better. We were real scared that we were going to get a lap down early but it never happened. The car was good enough to run with them, just real hard to pass. We got it working on the bottom there one time pretty well and man, it seemed like the top line was where I needed to be at the end. Just moving around a lot, a lot of confusion out there [laughs].”

DAVID GILLILAND, No. 90 CITIFINANCIAL FORD: “I felt like we got turned around at the beginning. We got into the wall up there and after that the toe was knocked out. It was a long night. It was wearing the front tires and we couldn’t get gas in it. It made for a long night. At the beginning of the race we were pretty good. We moved up a couple, three, four spots right at the beginning. The car felt real good. Someone got into the back of us or something. I don’t even know what happened. It’s one of those deals. It’s a tight little place. At the beginning everybody is bumped up bumper to bumper and nose to tail and I wasn’t the only one it happened to tonight [smiles].”
