LEFFLER RETURNS TO SITE OF FIRST NASCAR BUSCH SERIES VICTORY
Jason Leffler has one career NASCAR Busch Series victory to his credit with a win at Nashville Superspeedway in June 2004.
In three NBS starts at the 1.33-mile concrete track, Leffler has one win and one ninth-place finish. He has started outside of the top-10 only once.
Leffler currently sits 10th in the NASCAR Busch series point’s standings after 14 races.
LEFFLER ON RETURNING TO THE SITE OF FIRST NBS WIN:
“My first NASCAR Busch Series win came at Nashville Superspeedway in 2004 so I am really looking forward to going back for the second time this year. We were having a good run there back in April but engine problems ruined any chances we had at the win. It was disappointing for us but it has probably made us even more determined this weekend to go out and contend for the win. It would be awesome to get a win for Great Clips and to be able to take home another Gibson guitar trophy to add to my collection.”
LEFFLER ON NASHVILLE SUPERSPEEDWAY:
“Looking at Nashville Superspeedway, it’s kind of deceiving in that it looks a lot faster than it really is. The long front and backstretches carry you into tight corners. It’s really nothing like the other concrete tracks where you carry a lot of speed into and out of the turns with barely any straightaways. There’s room for plenty of passing which makes a fun race for the drivers as well as the fans.”
EQUIPMENT INFORMATION:
The No. 38 Great Clips team will compete with chassis # 15, a favorite of Leffler’s, in this weekend’s Pepsi 300. Chassis #15 is the same car that Leffler drove in the April race at Nashville as well as Texas (17th) and Atlanta, where he posted a season-best finish of sixth.
