Edwards Dominates at Nashville
After missing this race last season due to weather, Carl Edwards made up for lost time. Edwards simply dominated on his way to winning the Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway and the custom Gibson guitar trophy that goes to the winner. This is Edwards’ second Busch Series win of the season and the seventh of his career. Edwards led the most laps during the race, leading four times for 124 of the 225 total laps. Edwards outran Clint Bowyer by .920 seconds to the checkered flag to capture his first win in three starts at Nashville Superspeedway. Bowyer had to settle for the second position, while NASCAR Busch Series point leader Kevin Harvick finished third. Denny Hamlin was fourth in the finishing order while Paul Menard was the highest finishing non-Nextel Cup regular in fifth place. Edwards pocketed $48,425 with the win, boosting his season total winnings to $499,740.
