GREAT CLIPS RACING NOTES & QUOTES

  • Great Clips Adds Jason Leffler to Its Lineup of Drivers
Great Clips, which this season has served as primary sponsor of the No. 38 entry driven by AJ Foyt IV, announced this week that they will divide their sponsorship between Braun Racing’s No. 32 and No. 38 entries throughout the 2006 season. Leffler, driver of the No. 32 Chevrolet, will carry Great Clips as the primary sponsor of his car in select races beginning with this weekend’s Pepsi 300 at Nashville Superspeedway.

  • Leffler returns to the site of his one and only NASCAR Busch Series win in the No. 32 Great Clips Chevy
Jason Leffler has one career NASCAR Busch Series victory to his credit with a win at Nashville Superspeedway in June 2004. In two NBS starts at the 1.33-mile concrete track (both in 2004), Leffler has one win and one 9th place finish with 61 laps led. He has never started outside of the top-10.

  • Leffler currently sits 9th in the NASCAR Busch series point’s standings, just 31 points out of 5th place.

LEFFLER ON RETURNING TO THE SITE OF FIRST NBS WIN
My first NASCAR Busch Series win came at Nashville Superspeedway in 2004 so I am really looking forward to going back this weekend. It’s great to know that I am a part of an elite group of winners that has been able to take home the coveted Gibson guitar trophy. This was the one track I really missed going to last year when I was running in the Nextel Cup series. I’ve only been there twice but something about the place really suits my driving style. The Nashville race is always a lot of fun and usually has a pretty exciting finish. When it’s all said and done I definitely plan to have the Great Clips Chevy up front and battling for the win.

    LEFFLER ON NASHVILLE SUPERSPEEDWAY
When it comes down to the track itself - It’s very unique. The looks of the track are deceiving. It looks a lot faster than it really is. The long front and backstretches carry you into tight corners. It’s nothing like the other concrete where you carry a lot of speed into and out of the turns with barely any straightaways. Nashville is just a fun track to race with plenty of room to pass; there would be nothing better than to win this race again and bring Braun Racing and Great Clips their first win in 2006.

EQUIPMENT INFORMATION: The No. 32 Great Clips team will compete with chassis # 15, a favorite of Leffler’s, in this weekend’s Pepsi 300. Chassis #15 is the same car that Leffler drove last weekend in Texas (17th) as well as at Atlanta where he posted a season-best finish of 6th.
