    Looking Back:
To recognize the history of the NASCAR Busch Series, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2006, each week we’ll take a look back into David Green’s 16-year racing history, as it relates to this week’s track:

For his 2003 victory at Nashville Superspeedway, Green needed a last lap pass of Johnny Sauter. After passing Ashton Lewis Jr. for second place with two laps to go, Green set his sights on leader Sauter by going side-by-side coming off turn two and finished the winning pass down the back stretch. It was the second time Green won a Busch Series race in Nashville. His first win came in March of 1995, when the Busch Series raced at the Fairgrounds Speedway.

    David Green on Nashville:
“Nashville is one of my favorite tracks. The surface is concrete and smooth and has had great grip in the past. We had a bit of a dry spell last season in Nashville, so we are very confident and determined to turn our season around with a strong performance this weekend.

“My team and I have had great success in the past at Nashville and we know what it takes to win and be competitive there. Many of my team members have roots in Nashville and its one of our ‘home tracks’ with a lot of friends and family to cheer us on.

“Nashville is one of the most unique 1.33-mile tracks. Turns one and two are a little more ‘normal’ for that size track, but three and four are more like the corners at a half-mile track. It’s very challenging to get both ends of the track suited to your car’s handling.

“With my win there in 2003 – and guitar - plus a second-place finish that season and a strong run there last fall, my team and I are hungry and determined, with one goal for Saturday – to win!”

    David Green at Nashville Superspeedway:

    Highest finish: First (2003)
Last year: Started 21st, finished 18th
