Brewco Motorsports is coming off its most solid performance in the NASCAR Busch Series, having placed two cars (No. 27 and No. 66) in the top-ten in points (eighth and tenth respectively) in 2005.

In six starts at Martinsville, Green has four top-10 finishes, including two runner-up finishes.

On Thursday, July 20 around 11:15 am, Green will meet with three children from the Victory Junction Gang Camp, who will serve as Grand Marshals for the Goody’s 250 Busch Series race. Nick of Clemmons, NC age 13; Will “Cheese” of Greensboro, NC age 12; and Danielle of Martinsville, VA age 12, will meet with Green and other Busch Series drivers, owners, and Martinsville track officials during the race weekend.

Green will participate in a press conference in the infield media center at Martinsville Speedway on Friday, July 21 at 2 pm with fellow driver Kenny Wallace to talk about their 1994 races at Martinsville. In the two races that year – the last time the Busch Series visited the track – Green finished .25 seconds behind Terry Labonte in March and 1.40 seconds behind Wallace in October.

This week’s Associate Sponsor is The Kroger Co. Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kroger is one of the nation’s largest retail grocery chains. At the end of fiscal 2005, Kroger operated (either directly or through its subsidiaries) 2,507 supermarkets and multi-department stores in 31 states under two dozen local banners. Kroger also operated (either directly or through subsidiaries, franchise agreements, or operating agreements) 791 convenience stores, 428 fine jewelry stores, 579 supermarket fuel centers and 42 food processing plants.

Looking Back:
To recognize the history of the NASCAR Busch Series, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2006, each week we’ll take a look back into David Green’s 16-year racing history, as it relates to this week’s track:

The last two times David Green raced at Martinsville – twice in 1994 – he started from the pole and finished in second place. In the 1994 Advance Auto 500 – the last Busch Series race at Martinsville – Green was runner-up to Kenny Wallace by a margin of 1.40 seconds. Following the race, Green was in the lead in the 1994 NASCAR Busch Series point standings, on his way to winning the championship that same year.

David Green on Martinsville:
“It’s very exciting to get back to one of the most historic tracks on the NASCAR circuit. It’s only fitting as we celebrate 25 years of Anheuser-Busch sponsoring the NASCAR Busch Series that we have Martinsville – the true short track of NASCAR - back on our schedule.

“The Campbell family has been so supportive of the Busch Series through the years. I know they will have that cool grandfather clock for the winner, and no one can go without visiting the concession stands at Martinsville and getting a hot-dog - or two, three or four!

“This race will be the ultimate test of patience and respect, not only for your car (brakes, fenders, etc.) but for your fellow competitors as well. It truly is rush-hour on fast forward all day long at Martinsville. You might even say it’s Talladega-type racing - two-wide - crammed into a paper clip. This track requires it all, with no exceptions: brakes, superb handling with good entry, good turning ability, and good grip on exit. But most of all, patience and good pit stops are key.

“I can't wait to get there and give the Martinsville fans a race they have been waiting for since 1994. Having battled for the win in the last race there that year, and having been on the pole there as well, I'm excited and pumped to get to Martinsville and show everyone what my Kleenex® team is made of. We have had a lot of misfortune in the last month, and we’re determined to get back on track staring with practice and finishing it off in the race Saturday afternoon.”
