Notes:

  • Brewco is coming off its most solid performance in the NASCAR Busch Series, having placed two cars (No. 27 and No. 66) in the top-ten in points (eighth and tenth respectively) in 2005.
  • Kimberly-Clark, the primary sponsor of Brewco’s No. 27 Ford Fusion, was founded in 1872 in Neenah, Wisconsin, and maintains a significant presence in the town. This season Kimberly-Clark begins its 13th year as a sponsor in the NASCAR Busch Series, making it the longest continual team primary sponsor in the Series. Kimberly-Clark has sponsored the No. 27 Brewco team since 2003.
  • In 10 starts at Milwaukee, Green has five top-ten and four top-five finishes.
  • This week’s Associate Sponsor is Pick’n Save, a unit of Roundy’s Supermarkets, Inc. Roundy’s is a Fortune 500 company with nearly $4 billion in sales and 21,000 employees. It operates 135 retail grocery stores under the Pick ‘n Save, Copps and Rainbow Foods banners in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois. Roundy’s was founded in Milwaukee in 1872 as a wholesale company.

    Looking Back:
To recognize the history of the NASCAR Busch Series, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2006, each week we’ll take a look back into David Green’s 16-year racing history, as it relates to this week’s track:

Green’s best start of the year last year was a fifth place start at The Milwaukee Mile. Green’s average starting position of sixth place at Milwaukee is the highest average of the 38 tracks he has run on in his NASCAR Busch Series career.

    David Green on Milwaukee:
“This is the home base and home track for our sponsor Kimberly-Clark and it’s one of my favorite tracks, so it’s an exciting and important weekend for us. I'll know our team will have everyone at Kimberly-Clark cheering us on. That’s a hometown advantage if I've ever seen one! Thanks for all the support we get from Kimberly-Clark and all the great products we carry on our car. We want to celebrate with all of you come Saturday night.”

“We are bringing our best short track car to the race Saturday and with the momentum we had in Kentucky last weekend – from our practice sessions through the race – I’m as confident as ever that we can put together a winning weekend. We were right on track last year for a shot at victory, but rained stepped in and derailed us a bit. However, we are determined to show ‘em this year that the Kleenex® Ford is ready for the Milwaukee Mile.

“This is one of several races during the year that I feel like we can sit on the pole and win. We have had a lot of good runs here over the years, between poles and contending for the win. I know (Co-Crew Chief) Stewart (Cooper) and the guys have prepared our car to a “T” and we are all expecting nothing short of a clean sweep at the Mile.

“I feel like this track requires it all - handling, downforce, pit strategy and track position – more so than any other track. With the long flat corners, a driver has to be able to get into the corners well and cut under other guys through the center. Keeping that going for the whole fuel run is essential for a shot at victory lane.

“As I chased championships and wins over the 1993, 1994, 1996 and most recently 2003 seasons, I’ve learned that this racetrack is one where you can gain some real momentum for the final half of the season. With the bad luck we’ve had over the last couple of races, hopefully we can shake it off and be successful Saturday night.
