Kertus Davis will, once again, pilot of the Car #0 RACEGIRL Chevrolet Monte Carlo at Michigan International Speedway.

Kertus and his father Johnny Davis, owner of the Blacksburg, SC based team, have been working diligently to be more competitive in race trim. Since the team must qualify on time, it is difficult to get the chassis set-up for long race runs. Johnny Davis commented that he believes he has hit on a set-up that will make it easier for his under-funded team to both qualify a little better and adapt to race conditions early.

Johnny further mused that “it is usually that first pit stop that gets us. If there is a long run early where we can’t adjust the car, we are nearly always close to or actually being lapped. Those cars that are locked-in to qualify simply have a better idea of what it takes to both qualify and race well than we do. We believe our engine program in right there, now we need to give Kertus a car that he can race.”

Davis Motorsports continues to seek that elusive sponsor. Davis said, “We know we can give our supporters a solid return on their investment. We just need the investment to show what we can really do”.
