TODD KLUEVER—06—3M Performance Finish Fusion (6th in final practice)– YOU’VE BEEN TO MICHIGAN IN THE TRUCK SERIES, HOW DID YOUR FIRST PRACTICE GO IN THE BUSCH CAR? “I’m really happy with my Busch car. Unfortunately, my 3M Cup car got into the fence really bad, so we’re going to a back-up [car] there and I haven’t got to turn a lap in it, so that’s going to be an adventure to get that car in the race. I’m pretty happy with my Busch car, it’s a little bit too free for me right now, we’re working on that.”
HAVING TO GO TO A BACK-UP CAR FOR YOUR FIRST CUP RACE HERE, DOES THAT MAKE YOU AT ALL NERVOUS? “Well, we were kind of mediocre with our primary car and this car I don’t know anything about. I’ve never tested it, I’ve never driven it and it’s a little bit different chassis design. We’re gonna pray for a little bit of luck and hopefully get into the race.”
JOHN ANDRETTI—10—RVs.com/Camping World Fusion (5th in final practice)– THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE AT MICHIGAN IN A BUSCH CAR, HOW IS THE CAR RUNNING? “We went from being one way to all the way the other way and we’ve got to find something in between. I think we’ve got a pretty good direction, I can’t say we’re happy with it. I think race trim we’re okay, but in qualifying trim, we only did one qualifying run and the balance wasn’t really where we’d hope it would be. We’re going to make a couple big changes here and get ready for qualifying. That’s what half the field does, half of ‘em go home and sleep good and half of us don’t.”
GREG BIFFLE—16—Ameriquest Fusion (23rd in final practice)– WHAT HAPPENED OUT THERE DURING YOUR FIRST PRACTICE? “The track wasn’t wide enough. It was about a foot short coming off of Turn 2. I got behind two cars and we were trying a little bit different stuff. I’ve never driven really before with this kind of experiment, and boy, it just took off. We just went up there and scraped the fence. It’s okay though. We’ll get it fixed.”
