Carfax 250 - Cale Gale Notes

Cale Gale Doing Double Duty This Weekend at Michigan

Spartanburg, S.C. (August 16th) - Bobby Jones Racing and Phoenix Racing announced that Cale Gale will be behind the wheel of the No. 50 Dodge Charger this Friday for the Hantz Group 200 at Michigan International Speedway competing in the ARCA/REMAX Series. On Saturday, he will be driving the No. 1 Phoenix Racing, Miccosukee Resort & Gaming Dodge Charger in the Carfax 250.

In Gale’s last ARCA/REMAX Series outing at Gateway on July 22nd, he qualified fourth and held off Steven Wallace in an extended lap race for four green-white-checkered restarts for the win. It was only his second career ARCA start. In his first REMAX Series start at Nashville, he started ninth and finished sixth in the No. 09 Phoenix Racing Miccosukee Resort & Gaming Dodge.

In Gale’s last Busch outing at Chicagoland July 8th, he was in the midst of 21 Cup regulars, and after a dismal 39th starting position; he had worked his way up to sixth place by lap 79. After going a lap down, he received the lucky dog award and once again worked his way through traffic to ninth. Transmission problems forced the Miccosukee, Phoenix Racing Dodge in early on lap 192. In his Busch debut April 10th at Nashville, the 21 year old Mobile, Alabama native qualified tenth and finished 20th.

Gale is currently part of a driver development program at Phoenix Racing, and is also the shock specialist for the James Finch owned team. “I am thrilled to be able to drive in both the ARCA and Busch Series this weekend; this is the biggest challenge in my career. Once again, thanks to Mr. Finch and my team for this opportunity” said Gale.

Phoenix Racing’s sponsor, Miccosukee Resort & Gaming is located 15 minutes west of Miami along the southeastern edge of the beautiful Florida Everglades. They provide guest with luxurious hotel, convention and special event accommodations; five dining options, daily live entertainment, and big name shows and sporting events. Miccosukee also has a 24-hour-a-day gaming action, with monthly jackpots in excess of $22,000,000.

The Hantz Group 200 will be broadcast live by Speed at 5 p.m. Eastern time. The Carfax 250 will be carried by TNT and MRN affiliates at 2:45 Eastern.
