Notes:

  • Brewco Motorsports begins its 11th year competing in the NASCAR Busch Series. Brewco is coming off its most solid performance in the series, having placed two cars (No. 27 and No. 66) in the top-ten in points (eighth and 11th respectively) in 2005.

  • The No. 27 car will return to its Kleenex® paint scheme this week after running a special Huggies® CleanTeam paint scheme in Daytona and California.

  • This season Kimberly-Clark begins its 13th year as a sponsor in the NASCAR Busch Series, making it the longest continual team “primary” sponsor in the Series.

  • Last year – the first year the Busch Series ran at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez road course - the No. 27 Kleenex® Ford started 11th and finished in 39th place after the team suffered transmission problems. However, the car maintained a near top-10 position for most of the race, leading up to the mechanical issues.

  • Green has had success on other road course races in the NASCAR Busch Series. Over nine races at Watkins Glen International Speedway, he has posted four top ten and three top five finishes.

  • Consort® for Men hair care will make its sponsorship debut on the No. 27 car this week in Mexico.

    David Green on Mexico:
“I can’t wait to get there. We had an awesome test at Virginia International Raceway a month ago and (Crew Chief) Stewart (Cooper) and the guys built two new Ford Fusions for the 2006 road course races.

“Now that we are going back to the Mexico track for the second time, I know the feel of the track better. Road course racing is so totally different than what we do for the majority of the year, it really requires my team and I to totally re-program for the weekend.

“The track is unique - with the chicane down the long front stretch and some very slow technical corners, leading back to a blind last corner, then to the frontstretch that’s surrounded on both sides of a sea of fans! The mechanical aspects of the car are really put to the test and I’m totally concentrating on every lap, shifting, braking and staying on track.

“We had a decent qualifying run there last year and we hope we can be even closer to the front this year. Being in a new city with all the new Mexican fans cheering us on is always exciting and a lot of fun. It lets us showcase our Kleenex® colors down in Mexico.

“This is a very instrumental race toward getting our points back up to where we belong. It’s a race where we can really make up some ground and hopefully we can have a nice clean weekend from start to finish.”

  • Last year: Started 11th, finished 39th
