AJ Foyt IV Hoping Advice from Road Course Ace Pays Off in First of Two Road Course Races in 2006

  • AJ Foyt tested at VIR in preparation for this weekend’s NASCAR Busch Series event at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez with road-course specialist Boris Said on hand to offer advice.
  • Foyt will be relying heavily on communications with Boris Said this weekend, his Evernham Motorsports teammate, who is entered into the event as the driver of the No. 9 Evernham Motorsports Dodge.

FOYT IV ON RACING IN MEXICO CITY:
“I have never competed at the Mexico City track so I am not really sure what to expect. Boris Said will be a teammate this weekend driving the No. 9 Dodge so I will be communicating a lot with him trying to soak up some of his road course racing expertise. I tested with Boris at VIR several weeks ago, riding with him for several laps and then having him ride with me as the passenger for some laps. He was able to give a lot of advice on driving a road course that I think will be especially helpful this weekend. The Great Clips team just wants to have a good solid weekend in Mexico and make up some spots in the points standings.”

EQUIPMENT: The No. 38 Great Clips team will compete with chassis #54 this weekend in Mexico City. This is the same car that Tyler Walker drove in last season’s inaugural event at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez starting 12th and finishing 24th.
