WIX FILTERS LAP LEADER NOTES FOR THE SAM’S TOWN 300 NASCAR BUSCH SERIES RACE AT LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY, MARCH 11, 2006.
Ashton Lewis Jr. led once for 10 laps to win WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race Award in the Sam’s Town 300, the first laps he has led this season.
Lewis led for the first time since leading five laps in August 2005 at Indianapolis Raceway Park.
Lewis finished 13th, completing all 206 laps of the race. His best finish of the 2006 season is a 12th-place effort in the Feb. 18 Hershey’s Kissables 300 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. He had finished on the lead lap in two of the four races this season.
Lewis becomes the FOURTH different driver to capture the WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race Award in the Busch Series this season.
Keller led for the first time since last November at Homestead-Miami Speedway and scored his second consecutive finish on the lead lap. Saturday’s race was his 273rd consecutive Busch Series start, dating back to September 5, 1997 at Richmond International Raceway.
In 152 career superspeedway starts, Lewis has now led 112 total laps.
