Notes:

  • Brewco Motorsports begins its 11th year competing in the NASCAR Busch Series. Brewco is coming off its most solid performance in the series, having placed two cars (No. 27 and No. 66) in the top-ten in points (eighth and tenth respectively) in 2005.

  • This season Kimberly-Clark begins its 13th year as a sponsor in the NASCAR Busch Series, making it the longest continual team “primary” sponsor in the Series.

  • Green has posted two top-ten finishes at LVMS in six starts, with a highest finish of sixth (2003).

  • Last year the team started in 13th position and finished inside the top ten, in tenth place.

  • The No. 27 car will feature two Kimberly-Clark brands - Depend® and Poise® Products – this weekend in Vegas.

  • This week’s Associate Sponsor on the No. 27 car is Smith’s Food and Drug Stores, a division of the Kroger Co. (NYSE:KR), one of the nation’s largest food retailers. Smith’s currently operates 126 combination food and drug stores in seven western states, including 36 stores in Nevada. In the Las Vegas area 2,090 Smith’s employees provide helpful friendly service in 27 stores.

  • While in Las Vegas, Green will once again participate in the NASCAR Driver Auction at Sam’s Town Live!, inside Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall in Las Vegas on Thursday, March 9 at 6 p.m. The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities sponsors the annual event at which fans can bid on a ride with their favorite NASCAR Busch Series driver during Sam’s Town 300 pre-race ceremonies. The event also features a silent auction with a variety of racing and non-racing items on which to bid. All proceeds will go to The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities, which supports the increased quality of life for the children of southern Nevada.

    David Green on Las Vegas:

“Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the most picture-perfect mile-and-a-half race track we run on. It’s two and three lane racing all the way around. We had a good test at the track in February and we are confident that we’ll have our Kleenex Ford Fusion up front all day long with a shot to beat all the Bushwackers running in the race this year!

“Vegas has been a good track for my team and me, and more than ever we are determined to win and win big here. I know we’ll need a car that works all four tires equally through the entire fuel run and keeps a somewhat consistent balance. We were very happy with both those things during the test, but we hope to make the car even better by using the data we collected.

“The Goodyear tires for 2006 are so different that it’s important for us not to abuse the tires in the first ten laps of a run so we maintain good grip throughout the run. Here at Vegas you have to have solid, fast stops and good pit strategy to keep good track position the whole race. My pit crew has been working hard all winter and are up for the challenge.

“In addition to the racing, it’s fun to do as many off-track appearances as we can to help promote Kimberly-Clark. Participating in the charity auction at Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino is great too. We get a chance to help to raise a lot of money for Speedway Children’s Charities.”
