GREAT CLIPS RACING NEWS & NOTES

Leffler has a total of nine NASCAR starts at Lowe’s Motor Speedway with three Nextel Cup Series starts, five Busch Series starts and one Craftsman Truck Series starts.

In five NBS starts at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Leffler has one-top five and two top-10 finishes. In last October’s event at Lowe’s he posted a sixth place finish after starting from the 33rd position.

Leffler’s best performance at Lowe’s Motor Speedway came in 2004 when he started from the 6th spot and finished 4th.

Leffler has gained three spots in the NASCAR Busch Series point standings with solid finishes in the last two races. He currently sits in ninth place.

“Personally, I was a big fan of Lowe’s Motor Speedway before it was re-surfaced. The track’s now a lot faster but you are not going to see the same side-by-side racing and trading positions that you used to see there. Track position is going to be the name of the game this weekend because it’s now so hard to pass and there’s only one lane around the bottom.”

EQUIPMENT INFORMATION: The No. 38 Great Clips team will compete with chassis #15 in this weekend’s Carquest Auto Parts 300. This is the same chassis Leffler drove earlier this season at Atlanta (finished 6th), Texas (finished 17th) and Nashville (finished 35th – engine). The car was tested at Lowe’s May 9th and 10th in preparation for this weekend’s event.

APPEARANCES: Leffler will sign autographs and meet fans at the Great Clips showcar display at downtown Charlotte’s Speed Street on Friday, May 26th, from noon-1pm. Immediately following, Leffler will join Krissie Newman for a book signing of Pit Road Pets: NASCAR Stars and their Pets.
