Meijer 300 presented by Oreo - Clint Bowyer Notes

CLINT BOWYER
Racing Kentucky Style

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (June 13, 2006) – The state of Kentucky is all about racing. One form is run on a 1-mile oval dirt track, while the other is on a 1.5-mile tri-oval paved speedway. One is famous for its mint juleps and the other for its Busch beer. Yet, they both have one thing in common - horsepower. With the Kentucky Derby already run, the stars of the NASCAR Busch Series make their way to Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Ky., to run the Meijer 300 presented by Oreo on Saturday.

Carrying 700-horsepower under the hood, the ACDelco Real Car Guys are headed to the “Blue Grass State” with one thing in mind; a win for the “Blue Deuce.” After finishing a strong second last weekend at Nashville Superspeedway, Clint Bowyer feels his Richard Childress Racing team is on their way to the front. With the help of Brandon Miller practicing the ACDelco Chevy Friday, Bowyer will be able to step in and charge his way through the field as he attempts to cross the checkered flag first.

    Clint Bowyer on Kentucky Speedway…
Now that you have completed your first double-duty weekend, do you think you will be able to handle flying back and forth when needed for the rest of the season?
“Judging from last weekend we should be in pretty good shape at all the double-duty races. Brandon (Miller) got the car dialed in just right for me, so I was able to jump in and qualify the ACDelco Chevy fourth.”

Talk about your last trip to Kentucky Speedway.
“It ended up being a good run. The guys gave me unbelievable pit stops and that’s what saved us. For whatever reason, we just couldn’t go on a short run. We had a really good car on long runs but I think we may have missed it somewhere with the nose weight. All in all the ACDelco Chevrolet had a good day and we should do even better this time around.”
