Four Fun Facts about Auggie Vidovich and the “Quad Squad”
1. A Little Tid-Bit:
The Biagi DenBeste Racing team will hold a press conference on Saturday, November 18th at 11:30 a.m. to announce a new sponsor on the No. 4 Toyota in 2007. Principles of the No. 4 car will be on hand to answer questions from the media following the brief announcement.
2. Saying Thanks to GEICO for All the Great Times:
As the 2006 season comes to an end, so does Biagi DenBeste Racing’s association with long-time sponsor, GEICO. GEICO first sponsored the team at Daytona International Speedway on July 5th. 2002 and it was just two years later that the duo experienced the thrill of Victory Lane in Daytona after winning the Winn-Dixie 250. All good things must come to an end though, and at the drop of the checkered flag at Homestead-Miami Speedway, GEICO will find a new home in NASCAR. “We appreciate what GEICO has done for our team this year and in years past,” said Team President, Lenny Batycki. The future of the team has been a hot topic as of late, with the recent announcement that the team would be one of only three factory-backed Toyota NASCAR Busch Series teams in 2007.
3. Helping Raise Awareness for A Great Cause:
Auggie Vidovich and the Biagi DenBeste Racing team will join ppc Racing and other members of the NASCAR family by helping raise awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and their Thanks and Giving campaign on Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The No. 4 GEICO Dodge will display a special decal to help promote St. Jude’s national campaign that asks the public to “give thanks for the healthy kids in their lives, and give to those who are not.” The Thanks and Giving campaign was established in 2004 to help support the life-saving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is best-known as ‘the world’s epicenter of pediatric medical research’. 4. Auggie is Gaining Ground in the Most Popular Driver Search:
Auggie Vidovich is up for the Most Popular Driver award in the NASCAR Busch Series. It’s a title that the former NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Southwest Series driver has won three times in his career, most recently coming in 2003. Now, the pleasant and popular driver from Lakeside, Calif. will make a run at it in the NASCAR Busch Series. Vidovich is gaining ground on his competitors thanks to your votes. Vidovich Rallies to 33rd After Being Punted at PIR:
Auggie Vidovich and the Biagi DenBeste Racing team entered Saturday’s Arizona Travel 200 at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR), hoping for a good run on a track that the driver had a lot of experience on. Unfortunately, the No. 4 GEICO/DenBeste Dodge was hit from the rear and sent slamming into the turn two wall on lap 94. The crew worked quickly to repair the damage and return their car to the track where they would pick up seven spots to finish 33rd.
