LEFFLER ONCE AGAIN KNOCKING ON THE DOOR TO THE TOP-10

  • Since falling back to 16th six weeks ago, Leffler has been slowly creeping back up into the top-10 in the NASCAR Busch Series point standings. He currently sits 11th, 47 points out of 10th behind Kenny Wallace.
  • Leffler has three career NASCAR Busch Series starts at Gateway International Raceway with a best finish of sixth in 2004. He finished in the top-20 in all three events and started outside of the top-10 only once.
  • Leffler has two runner-up finishes to his credit in two career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts at Gateway (2002-2003.) He started inside the top-10 in both events.

SPECIAL PAINT SCHEME ON THE NO. 38 GREAT CLIPS CHEVROLET
The No. 38 Great Clips Chevrolet will feature a new look for the next two weekends. In a partnership between Great Clips, Inc. and Disney, the Great Clips Chevrolet will have a new paint scheme to promote the DVD release of Disney’s “The Shaggy Dog.”

LEFFLER ON RACING AT GATEWAY INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY
“Gateway has been a pretty good track to me over the years. I have had a pretty good amount of success there coming close to winning in the trucks but twice had to settle for second. I’ve run pretty well there in the Busch cars as well, so obviously I have big expectations for us this weekend. Gateway is a challenging track handling-wise because you have two very different corners. You have to work to find the right balance. One of the biggest keys is getting off of one and two so you can get a good run down the backstretch.”

    EQUIPMENT:
The No. 38 Great Clips team will compete with chassis # 17 in this weekend’s Gateway 200. This is the same chassis that Leffler competed with earlier this season at events in Phoenix and Richmond, capturing the Busch pole for both events, as well as Milwaukee where he started 9th and posted a season-best fourth place finish. Leffler has led a total of 180 laps while driving chassis #17, with 76 laps led in Phoenix, 66 laps led in Richmond and 38 laps led in Milwaukee.
