In six starts at Gateway, Green has three top-10 and two top-five finishes.

Green Media/Fan Day Thursday: David Green will participate with fellow drivers in media and fan activities on Thursday, July 27. This will include a brewery tour at Anheuser-Busch headquarters in St. Louis, followed by an autograph session at the facility at noon. He will also participate in an autograph session at the Busch Series Outdoor Concert featuring Blues Traveler at the Casino Queen Hotel and Casino from 6:15 to 7:15 pm.

Brewco Ironmen Bike 250 Miles to Race: On the heels of the Tour de France, Brewco Motorsports’ General Manager Todd Wilkerson and Vice President of Marketing Matt Crews are riding their bicycles from Central City, Kentucky, to St. Louis this week for the race on Saturday at Gateway International Raceway. The trip, which they will get underway on Wednesday, is about 250 miles – the same length as the Busch Silver Celebration 250.

This week’s Associate Sponsor is ALDI, an international retailer specializing in a limited assortment of private label, high-quality products at the lowest possible prices. Aldi introduced the limited assortment concept to the United States in 1976 when the first stores were opened in southeastern Iowa. Today, Aldi Inc. operates more than 700 stores in 26 states, primarily from Kansas to the east coast.

Looking Back:
To recognize the history of the NASCAR Busch Series, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2006, each week we’ll take a look back into David Green’s 16-year racing history, as it relates to this week’s track:

Racing at Gateway International Raceway has always been a family affair for David Green. The 1994 NASCAR Busch Series Champion considers Gateway one of his home tracks, as it is located just over 200 miles from his hometown of Owensboro, Kentucky. In 2000, Green and his brothers Mark and Jeff all competed full-time in the Busch Series and the July 29 CarQuest Auto Parts 250 at Gateway that year marked the 50th time the three brothers had competed against each other – a NASCAR Busch Series record.

David Green on Gateway:
“There is no question this is the most challenging short/intermediate track we run. With a Milwaukee-type three and four corner, alongside a Martinsville-type one and two, it’s the ultimate task for a crew chief and driver to get the balance just right between the two ends. But (Co-Crew Chief) Stewart (Cooper) and my guys have given me really competitive cars here since 2003 – our first trip to Gateway as a team.

“We have come very close to victory lane several times at Gateway. This weekend we are bringing a car to St. Louis that we know has the ability to perform at these kind of tracks. It’s the same car we ran earlier this year at Milwaukee and at Phoenix, where we finished ninth.

“St. Louis is the home of Anheuser-Busch, and as we celebrate their 25th year with the NASCAR Busch Series this year, we’re expecting a fun packed weekend. With the A-B brewery tour and autograph signing Thursday, it's an exciting time to be a past champion and race winner in this series.

“Having fought for the 2003 championship a few years ago, and to come up only 14 points shy, I'm proud to be a part of this great series and to bring my Kleenex® team to Gateway and be a contender for the win on Saturday. That’s our number one goal.”
