Dover 200 - Steve Wallace Notes

STEVE WALLACE
No. 61 DODGE MOTORSPORTS DODGE CHARGER
DOVER INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY – DOVER 200

STEVE WALLACE PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE
Coming off of an impressive ARCA RE/MAX Series win at Chicagoland Speedway, Steve Wallace is optimistic heading into the Monster Mile that is Dover International Speedway. As the 19 year-old rookie works to gain more experience, he knows seat time is key to a successful future and is looking forward to getting just that over his next six NASCAR Busch Series races in 2006.

The challenge for Wallace and the No. 61 Dodge Motorsports team will be to make the race, since this second entry out of the RWI Racing stable does not have the owner points needed to secure a starting position. In spite of the team’s lack of owner points, Wallace is ready, as he has qualified well for all of his NBS races, boasting eight top-20, six top-15 and five top-10 efforts, in only 11 attempts.

Despite the obstacles that Wallace and his team will face going into the Monster Mile, they are well prepared and looking forward to a solid finish.

CHASSIS INFORMATION…

  • The No. 61 Dodge Motorsports team will be unloading chassis No. 6405; Wallace raced this car at Bristol in March of this year

    RWI RACING QUOTES…

  • Driver, Steve Wallace… “I’m ready for Dover. I raced here earlier this season and struggled a lot. I wrecked in practice, wrecked in the race and ended up finishing 38th. Even though I had some trouble, I was very fast in practice and qualified ninth for the race, so I feel pretty good about going back there. Our main focus for the weekend is to make the race, qualify well and get a solid top-15 finish. I am confident in my team and feel like we’ll be ready.”
  • Crew Chief, Steve Darne… “We are hoping to get the car running good and stable. Our first concern is to get into the race, then to get a top-15 finish. Our team has been extremely successful this year in the ARCA Series, so we feel prepared going into these next few (NASCAR) Busch races.”
