Dover 200 - Sean Caisse Notes

SEAN CAISSE
NO. 33 OUTDOOR CHANNEL CHEVROLET
DOVER INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY PREVIEW

CAISSE DEBUTS IN THE NO. 33: Sean Caisse will debut behind the wheel of the No. 33 Outdoor Channel Chevrolet this weekend at Dover (Del.) International Speedway. Caisse will make his first career NASCAR Busch Series start at Dover, Del. Caisse will be the sixth driver to sit in the seat of the No. 33 this season. The No. 33 team currently sits 11th in the NASCAR Busch Series owner points standings.

CAISSE’S EXPERIENCE IN BUSCH EAST: Sean Caisse will be making his first NASCAR Busch Series start on Saturday at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, but Caisse does have experience in heavy stock cars. Caisse has two years of competition in the NASCAR Busch East Series to his resume and has competed in one East Series race at Dover (Del.) in 2005. Caisse who is currently second in the Busch East points standings, has three wins to his credit this season with five top-five and seven top-10 finishes as well.

CAISSE DOUBLE DUTY WEEKEND: Sean Caisse will pull “double-duty” this weekend at Dover (Del.) International Speedway. Caisse will drive the No. 44 Casella Waste Systems Chevrolet in the NASCAR Busch East Series event on Friday, and the No. 33 Outdoor Channel Chevrolet in the NASCAR Busch Series event on Saturday.

KHI FIRSTS: KHI has had a lot of firsts in its brief five year history. KHI fielded the truck for Kevin Harvick’s first Truck Series win and KHI fielded the Busch car for Tony Stewart’s first Busch Series win. Burney Lamar drove a KHI truck in his first Truck Series start and a KHI Busch car in his first Busch Series start. Lamar also captured KHI’s first West Series win. This weekend two more firsts will take place within the KHI organization. Sean Caisse will make his first Busch Series start in the No. 33 Outdoor Channel Chevrolet for KHI and Charlie Wilson will make his Busch Series debut as crew chief, calling the shots for Caisse and the No. 33 Outdoor Channel team.

DID YOU KNOW?: KHI’s Charlie Wilson will be making his debut in the Busch Series as a crew chief, but he has plenty of experience as a team leader. Wilson was Scott Lynch’s crew chief during the 2003 NASCAR West Series season when Lynch was crowned champion and earned Rookie-of-the-Year honors. Wilson then served as crew chief at Orleans Racing for Steve Park’s NASCAR Truck Series entry in 2004 and 2005. Wilson joined KHI in June of this year. Wally Rogers, who has served as crew chief of the No. 33 this season, will serve as crew chief for Ron Hornaday and the No. 33 AES Chevrolet Silverado team this weekend in Las Vegas, Nev.

KHI QUOTEBOOK

Driver: Sean Caisse
HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR YOUR FIRST NASCAR BUSCH SERIES START? “I’ve been racing in the NASCAR Busch East Series and there are some similarities between the two cars. I’ll have the East race on Friday to get some track time before I get in the Outdoor Channel car. I’ve got a lot of people I can talk to about Dover and a good team and good equipment to work with. I’m just excited to get to Dover and get some laps under my belt.”

HOW MUCH WILL RUNNING THE BUSCH EAST RACE HELP YOU AT DOVER? “The main thing for me will be laps and seat time at Dover. The East cars run a different tire, so there won’t be a lot of carry over in the set ups, but laps at Dover will be the biggest help.”

Crew Chief: Charlie Wilson
WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR SEAN THIS WEEKEND? “The main thing for Sean this weekend is to make laps and get comfortable in the car. He’s got a great group of guys working on the Outdoor Channel Chevrolet and we’ll be able to put a good setup in the car for him. If he just makes laps and keeps his nose clean during the race, he’ll be in position for a good finish.”

YOU’VE WORKED WITH A YOUNG DRIVER BEFORE, WILL THAT HELP THIS WEEKEND? “Sean has done a great job in the East Series to this point. I think he’ll handle the Busch car well and I look forward to working with him. He’ll have the laps at Dover so he’ll just need to settle in and get comfortable with our team and he’ll have a good weekend.”
