Dover 200 - Auggie Vidovich Notes

Four Fun Facts about Auggie Vidovich and the “Quad Squad”

1. Auggie Will Let the Cat Out of the Bag on Friday:
Auggie Vidovich and the Biagi DenBeste Racing team will hold a press conference on Friday, September 22nd to kick-off a national campaign involving the No. 4 Dodge.

2. Auggie Continues to Attract More Media Attention:
Auggie continues to be a busy man, entertaining interviews from local, state, and national media. Auggie will take part in an on-air interview tomorrow morning with Brian Hall, co-host of the “Cat Country Morning Wake-Up with Brian and Dixie” on WICO/WXJN-FM out of Salisbury, Md. He will also take part in a radio special on 92.9 WDSD at 9:15 p.m. on Friday, September 22nd. The station has long been recognized as a leader in broadcasting and has covered NASCAR Racing in Delaware for over 20 years.

3. Auggie will Salute our Troops:
Auggie will show his support for our troops by participating in Dover Air Force Base’s bi-annual NASCAR Social and autograph session on Friday night. The hour-long autograph session will be held between 7 and 8 p.m. The NASCAR socials provide our military members and their families with a wide variety of entertainment including a live band, micro-racing track, simulator rides, moon bouncers, food and door prizes.

4. Auggie is Returning to the Site of His Busch Series Debut:
Auggie’s first start in the NASCAR Busch Series came at Dover International Speedway in June. Auggie gained the respect of veterans on and off the track after he adapted well and kept the GEICO Dodge out of trouble to finish 29th, after starting 31st, in his Busch Series debut.

The Richmond Race was a Tail of Recovery for the GEICO Racing Team:
The GEICO Racing team recovered well from the challenges they faced at Richmond International Raceway, even after they were forced to pull out their backup car following a wreck in final practice. The GEICO crew qualified 27th and went on to finish 27th in the Emerson Radio 250, despite running their backup car and having a broken spring that was discovered in post-race tear down.

Front Tire Changer, Bradley Johnson, on a Real Road to Recovery:
Bradley Johnson has been changing front tires on the No. 4 GEICO Dodge since August, but the 24-year-old has been sidelined after sustaining severe injuries in a collision in downtown Mooresville, N.C. last week. The Sanford, Fla.-native shattered both of his femurs and broke his right hand, wrist, and thumb after a Jeep pulled out in front of him, causing him to crash while riding his motorcycle on Tuesday night. Johnson begins his road to recovery with support and well wishes from his friends and teammates at Biagi DenBeste Racing.
