Burton Claims Victory in StonebridgeRacing.com 200
Starting deep in the field in the StonebridgeRacing.com 200 at Dover International Speedway, Jeff Burton was able to work his way to the front of the field to claim his second NASCAR Busch Series victory of the season and the 22nd of his career. His previous win came at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March. Burton won the race after starting 36th, the lowest starting position of any NASCAR Busch Series winner at Dover, breaking the record set by Scott Wimmer, who won in September of 2002 after starting 26th. Burton has now finished in the top 10 in six of his seven races this season with four top-five finishes. Carl Edwards finished 1.170 seconds behind Burton to score the second position in the finishing order, while Kurt Busch and Clint Bowyer finished third and fourth respectively. Ron Hornaday finished fifth, his highest finish in five races this season. Series point standings leader Kevin Harvick finished 13th, his lowest finish of the season. Harvick now holds a point lead of 297 points over Edwards in second place.
Busch Series Qualifying Rained Out, Harvick to Start from Pole
Rain has caused the cancellation of NASCAR Busch Series qualifying this afternoon at Dover International Speedway. The starting lineup for the StonebridgeRacing.com 200 was set in accordance with the NASCAR rule book, giving points leader Kevin Harvick the top starting position for today’s race at the ‘Monster Mile.’ Joining Harvick on the front row will be Carl Edwards, followed by Clint Bowyer and Denny Hamlin in row two.
