KENNY WALLACE / #22 AUTOZONE RACING TEAM FAST FACTS:

  • In 2005, Kenny Wallace finished seventh in the NBS Driver Point Standings, collecting 5 top-fives and 11 top-tens
  • Wallace captured the pole position in his first career Busch Series start at Daytona International Speedway
  • Wallace will be attempting to put the #22 AutoZone Ford in Victory Lane, improving his DIS career best finish of fourth

WALLACE ON THE HERSHEY’S KISSABLES 300 AND DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY:
“I can’t tell you how excited I am about our #22 AutoZone Ford Racing team going into the 2006 NASCAR Busch Series season. Our team was really strong at the beginning of last season, and then we struggled towards the end, so over the off-season my car owner, Greg Pollex, asked me what we needed to make our team stronger. The first thing we did was hire Randy Cox to lead our team and Randy has already made a big difference not only with the cars, but in the way the team approaches everything. Going to Daytona for the test, we knew that our car was not going to be very good on single car runs because we focused on working hard to make the AutoZone Ford strong in the draft. Qualifying is always important, but having a good handling car that will suck up in the draft is much more important when you’re preparing to run 300 miles to put yourself in position to contend for the win at the end of the race. Everyone at ppc Racing has worked hard during the off-season to make our teams stronger, and the #22 AutoZone team is ready to contend for the 2006 NASCAR Busch Series Championship from the time the green flag flies at Daytona.”
