NASCAR VETERAN BECOMES BUSCH SERIES ROOKIE
John Andretti will make his second career Busch Series start at Daytona International Speedway in the Hershey’s Kissables 300.
Andretti won the Pepsi 400 at Daytona in July 1997 driving the # 98 Nextel Cup car for RCA and Cale Yarborough.
Despite his more than three hundred starts in a Nextel Cup racecar, Andretti is a “rookie” to the Busch Series. Andretti has turned in his paperwork to run for the Raybestos Rookie-of-the-Year honors in the 2006 season. Stay tuned!
When the #10 FreedomRoads Ford Fusion takes to the track in Daytona, it will mark the launch of Andretti’s third sponsor, RVs.com. The comprehensive RV website offers customers one-stop-shopping for all their Camping and RVing needs. Please visit www.RVs.com.
ANDRETTI AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
Saturday’s Hershey’s Kissables 300 will be Andretti’s second Busch Series start at the Daytona Beach, FL. 2.5-mile superspeedway. Andretti has 22 Nextel Cup starts at Daytona International Speedway, including a win at the Pepsi 400 in 1997.
ANDRETTI ON THE HERSHEY’S KISSABLES 300 AND DAYTONA
“I really like Daytona. It’s a place where you have to walk in with the right attitude. Anything can happen on that track, it’s like waiting for a bomb to go off. You know it’s going to happen, but you don’t know when and you just have to hope you aren’t around it when it does. The best words you can hear from your spotter in Daytona is “caution behind you. I hope I’m hearing that and not “go high, go low!”
