With an impressive NASCAR Busch Series record at California Speedway, Jamie McMurray and the No. 64 Pechanga Resort & Casino team are preparing themselves for what should be a successful weekend. As the team heads to California Speedway for the running of the Ameriquest 300, McMurray’s stats at the two-mile D-shaped oval have the No. 64 crew confident in a top-five finish.

In six NBS starts at California, McMurray boasts a notable two top-five, four top-10 and five top-15 finishes. The only thing missing from the Joplin, MO native’s record is a win, and a win is just what he and the No. 64 crew are expecting.

Crew Chief, Bryant Frazier and the Pechanga crew will unload car No. 6421, a brand new car for the Ameriquest 300. Though this RWI Racing machine has never seen a racetrack, if it is anything like it’s predecessors it will be fast from the get-go.

Jamie McMurray on what a win would mean for him at California…
“It’s been a while since I’ve been to victory lane. Bryant (Frazier, crew chief) and the guys have given me some really good cars all year and for whatever reason, we haven’t always gotten the finishes to reflect that. I feel like a win at California would be awesome. I really like this track a whole lot and feel like I can be competitive here. Hopefully this weekend we’ll have a little luck and pull off a great finish for our new sponsor Pechanga.”

Crew Chief Bryant Frazier…
“There is no doubt in my mind that we’ll be competitive this weekend – we are every weekend. We’ve just managed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and our finishes don’t reflect what we’re capable of. Jamie does really well at California, we finished fifth with him here earlier this year. I’m hoping for a little luck and another top-five finish – but you never know.”

The NASCAR Busch Series’ Ameriquest 300 is scheduled for Saturday, September 2 at 10:00 p.m. ET. TNT television and MRN radio affiliates will carry the live race broadcast.
