LEFFLER LOOKING FORWARD TO HOMECOMING; HOPING TO BREAK INTO THE TOP-10

  • Leffler, a native of Long Beach, Calif., is again closing in on the top-10 in the point standings, currently 36 points out, and could break into 10th place this weekend at his home track, California Speedway.
  • Leffler has been the highest finishing Busch Series regular for the last two weeks with finishes of 13th at Michigan and 5th last weekend in Bristol.
  • In five career NASCAR Busch Series starts at California, Leffler has one pole (2004) and two top-10 finishes (10th in fall 2004 and 7th in fall 2005.)
  • Leffler has competed in only one Craftsman Truck Series event at California. In 2002, he started eighth and went on to post a second place finish.

    LEFFLER ON CALIFORNIA SPEEDWAY:
“I always look forward to going home for racing at California Speedway. Not only does it give me the opportunity to do what I love but I get to catch up with family and friends that I don’t get to see as often living on the east coast. After the strong performances we have had as a team the last couple of weeks, we are carrying a lot of momentum into this weekend and are counting on another strong run that will hopefully put us back into the top-10 in the point standings. We had a great run in Michigan a couple of weeks ago with a 13th place finish, and I think that’s going to help us tremendously in California. Having experimented with some different set-ups while we were in Michigan, some of which worked and some that didn’t, we are going into this weekend smarter and better equipped and should very well be able to improve upon that finish.”

    EQUIPMENT INFORMATION:
The No. 38 Great Clips team will compete with chassis # 23 in this weekend’s Ameriquest 300. This is the same car Leffler drove to a 13th place finish two weeks ago at Michigan.
