In 10 starts at California, Green has two top-10 finishes.

Green will participate in the Ontario Race Fest at the Ontario Convention Center, Thursday, August 31, signing autographs from 6 to 8 pm.

This week’s Associate Sponsor is Rite-Aid Corporation, one of the nation’s leading drugstore chains with annual revenues of more than $17.3 billion and approximately 3,320 stores in 27 states and the District of Columbia.

Looking Back:
To recognize the history of the NASCAR Busch Series, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2006, each week we’ll take a look back into David Green’s 16-year racing history, as it relates to this week’s track:

The 2006 season started off on rough note for Green and the No. 27 Brewco crew, as the team had to go to a backup car for the first two weeks of the season. Following a practice accident in the Hershey’s Kissables 300 at Daytona the first week of the season, the team’s primary car was involved in another practice accident in the Stater Bros. 300 at California Speedway. Faced with this early setback, both the Brewco crew and driver David Green stepped up to meet the challenge in Fontana, and turned what could have been a disastrous weekend into a 20th place finish.

David Green on California:
“California is the most challenging intermediate track we run on, no question. There are long straightaways which require the best grip and best corner speeds possible. Good corner entry with lots of grip is key to making fast laps in Fontana, which will let you draft with the other cars and pull off the passes to get to Victory Lane.

”We will work non-stop out there on getting front and rear grip into our car. With the hot conditions we will see there this weekend, versus what we saw in February, the track will be slick throughout the day and will pick up grip as it cools down at night.

”This is the time of the season that we will work hard in gaining as much ground in the points as possible. We’ll have a ‘go-for-broke’ attitude toward getting into Victory Lane for Cottonelle® and Ford Racing this week.

”It’s a special weekend for me personally, as I will join my friend Greg Anderson – a three-time NHRA Pro-Stock World Champion – and the staff of O’Reilly Raceway Park at the NHRA Mac Tools US Nationals: the Daytona 500 of drag racing. It’s always fun to hang out and meet all the great drag racing competitors and fans, and to represent my great sponsors – Kleenex®, Ford, Mac Tools, and Ravenswood – at such a tremendous and prestigious event.”
