KEVIN HARVICK QUOTES:
Has winning in the Busch Series become easy for you?
“No. It’s as hard as it’s ever been and we’ve been fortunate this year to capitalize on cars that have been running good and put ourselves in position to win some races that we shouldn’t have won and win some of the races that we should have won as well. It’s not easy by any means and I can’t do it in my own car yet. The No. 21 Coast Guard Chevy just really has the stuff together and the whole team is really on top of things.”
Is it still fun running in the Busch Series?
“Oh yes, I still have a lot of fun. Anytime you’re running good and winning races it is fun. Doesn’t matter if you are racing go-karts, Cup cars or Busch cars, it’s a lot of fun.”
Why are you successful at Bristol?
“I grew up on a half-mile, high-banked racetrack. I know Bristol is a lot more banked but it’s kind of the same mindset for me driving around the track. It’s a very fast, high-banked concrete track. It’s short-track beating and banging and it’s a lot of fun. I seem to have a lot of success every time I go so I’m always excited to go back.”
Why do you enjoy running at Bristol so much?
“Bristol is my favorite place to go. I enjoy the short track stuff and we’ve always been fortunate to run really well there. We go there with high expectations but you never know what’s going to happen. You can get caught up in a wreck in a hurry and have your day ended. You have to go to Bristol and enjoy it but know that the outcome could be the opposite of what you want it to be.”
