CLINT BOWYER
RCR Dominates Busch Series Short Track Racing
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (August 22, 2006) – ACDelco driver Clint Bowyer is excited to be returning to his favorite type of racing as he takes to the .533-mile bull-ring in Bristol, Tenn., under the lights on Friday night. He feels confident that Team ACDelco has what it takes to win the Food City 250 this weekend. They are returning with their best short track car and the determination it takes to visit victory lane.
Bowyer led the way in 2005 NASCAR Busch Series short track racing. He had the most top-fives with three and was tied for the most top-10s with four. The 27-year-old also led the most laps which consisted of pacing the field for a total of 243 laps. Then he went on to collect the most points and had the best average finish of 6.7 in 2005.
This season it is his Richard Childress Racing teammate, Kevin Harvick that is dominating the NASCAR Busch Series short track stats. Whether it’s Clint Bowyer or Kevin Harvick, the RCR Busch Series teams are clearly the leaders in short track racing.

Clint Bowyer on Bristol Motor Speedway…
Talk about your last trip to Bristol Motor Speedway.
“That was a really fun weekend. The weather was playing havoc on all of us for the Busch race. Qualifying got snowed out and then the race was snowed delayed a couple of times. That is one weekend that I will always remember because of the weather.”
You haven’t won yet this season. What is the team morale like around the shop?
“I think there’s a little frustration there because we know we have what it takes to win and we just haven’t gotten it yet. It’s not for a lack of effort by any means. The guys have been working their guts out on our cars and we’ve been really clicking as a team. We just haven’t found lady luck yet this year, but I think we will before the season is over.”
