Two Top-20 Finishes for RWI Racing at Phoenix

McMurray, Wallace Finish 15th, 16th Respectively

AVONDALE, Ariz. (November 11, 2006) – The teams from RWI Racing unloaded two racecars this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway, Steve Wallace’s No. 61 Checker Auto Parts Dodge and Jamie McMurray’s No. 64 Top-Flite Dodge. Though both drivers brought home top-20 finishes, each raced their own race and battled different circumstances during Saturday’s Arizona Travel 200.

Rookie, Wallace and the No. 61 Checker Auto Parts team came to Phoenix looking to gain experience and capture a solid top-20 finish. Despite a less than stellar 36th-place qualifying effort and handling issues during the race, the 19-year-old Mooresville, N.C. native ran a smart race and captured a 16th-place finish.

McMurray, in his final start in the No. 64 Top-Flite Dodge was hoping to get a win this weekend, and after Friday’s practice sessions a win looked very possible for McMurray and his crew. However, McMurray would battle tight handling conditions throughout the race and only be able to pull off a 15th-place finish.

Matt Kenseth captured his 20th career NASCAR Busch Series victory at PIR. Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Clint Bowyer and Carl Edwards followed to complete the top-five.

With just one race left in the 2006 NASCAR Busch Series season, team owner, Rusty Wallace currently sits 15th in owner point standings.

Steve Wallace and the No. 64 Dodge Motorsports Dodge team will head to Homestead-Miami Speedway for the NASCAR Busch Series’ season finale, Ford 300. TNT television and MRN radio affiliates will carry live racing action beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, November 18.

RWI Racing Radio Chatter

Wallace: Jamie, you there bud? It’s Steve-O
McMurray: Yeah man. What’s up?
Wallace: Just wanted to let you know I’m behind you and I’m coming hard on this restart
McMurray: 10-4, buddy
Wallace: Look out, I’m coming for you
Rusty Wallace: Alright now Steve, be smart. Take care of my car, both of my cars. We want to bring two racecars back to North Carolina. Now, drive smart and take care of my stuff.
Wallace: 10-4 dad

RWI Racing Quotes
Jamie McMurray… “I really appreciate all of the hard work Bryant (Frazier, crew chief) and the guys have put forth this year. I’ve had really great cars and some pretty awesome runs. I hate that I couldn’t get a win for the guys in my last start. I just struggled all day with a tight racecar. We never could quite get our car just right.”

Steve Wallace… “My Checker Auto Parts Dodge was pretty good all day. It was definitely best on fresh tires. My guys worked really hard all weekend and even though we struggled some in practice and qualifying, I’m really glad to bring home a solid finish.”
