Great Clips Holds Event to Benefit the Children’s Hospital

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (June 19, 2006) – Great Clips Racing drivers Jason Leffler and Gabi DiCarlo will visit the Minneapolis campus of Children’s Hospital and Clinics during a trip to the Twin Cities on June 26, 2006.

Leffler, a NASCAR Busch Series driver, as well as DiCarlo, a Hooters Pro Cup Series driver, will be on hand to sign autographs and take photographs with the children receiving care from the hospital. The children will also have the opportunity to get an up-close look at the No. 38 Great Clips Chevrolet showcar that competes in the NASCAR Busch Series each week. Following the visit to the Children’s Hospital, Leffler and DiCarlo will make an appearance at the Great Clips Charity Golf Classic at the Bearpath Golf and Country Club in Eden Prairie.

Great Clips has been a long-standing supporter of the Children’s Hospital and Clinics in the Minneapolis/ St. Paul area. The Great Clips Charity Golf Classic, in its 10th year, is one of the largest golfing events held to support Children’s Hospitals and Clinics in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and has successfully raised more than $1,000,000 at the tournament over the past nine years. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit Children’s Hospitals and Clinics to support incidental needs of families with patients at the hospital such as dinners, transportation and lodging.

“Visiting the Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis is something I have been looking forward to all year,” said Leffler. “If my visit serves the purpose of putting a smile on just one child’s face, I will come home satisfied. It’s an amazing gift to be able to make someone happy so I am grateful to Great Clips for allowing me to do this. I’m really excited about meeting all of the kids and I hope that the day’s event will really cheer them up.”

Great Clips has been a primary sponsor in the NASCAR Busch Series for five years. Partnered with one of the NASCAR Busch Series’ most successful teams, Braun Racing, Great Clips is contending for their first NASCAR championship as a sponsor with Leffler behind the wheel.

Great Clips is the primary sponsor of DiCarlo in the Hooters Pro Cup Series. This season she is competing in an 11-race schedule in the No. 83 Great Clips Ford in the series and is increasingly making a name for herself in the racing ranks. In addition to racing, DiCarlo is also a full-time student at Arizona State University where she is earning her degree in Business.
