    Stacy Compton Quotes
On Talladega: “Running a race at Talladega is a lot like driving on an eight-lane interstate. It’s a continual guessing game on which like of traffic will move the quickest. You’re always looking to improve your position by picking the right pack of traffic, knowing if you pick wrong you’re going to lose positions. Worse yet, if you really pick the wrong pack of traffic, you can end up in a big crash. That’s why you spend more time looking in the rearview mirror at Talladega than you do looking ahead.”

On the season: “We’ve gone from 27th to 15th in the point standings in the last four races, so we’re really coming together. These are some of the best cars I’ve ever driven and we just seem to get caught up in some unlucky situations. While it’s been frustrating, it hasn’t affected our preparation. The cars just keep getting better each week and the guys on this Kingsford/Bush’s Baked Beans team don’t stop working. We’re on the verge of putting together a bunch of top-10 finishes.”

    Crew Chief Chris Rice Quote
On Talladega: “The first goal when you go to Talladega is bringing the car home in one piece. There are no fender-benders at Talladega. It’s either going to be a car we can take to Daytona in July, or it’s headed to the junkyard. Even at 190 mph, you use the front bumper as much as you do on a short track because bump-drafting is the only way to push – and get pushed – past other cars. And you hope you’re the one doing the pushing, not the one getting pushed.”
