On Talladega: “I’ve been going to Talladega since I was old enough to walk with my father’s race team, but this is the first time I’ve ever had the opportunity to race there. I’ve raced a Daytona, and my father said Talladega is a little easier for the driver. The big secret is making your car as small as possible in the air. It’s so aero-sensitive. You want to make the smallest hole possible in the air and keep the car down against the apron because it’s the shortest way around.”

On the season: “We brought a new car to Phoenix and we probably should have tested, but this is the first week that we've struggled this year.
