O'Reilly Challenge - Justin Labonte Notes

Labonte/Haas U.S. Coast Guard Racing Texas Pre-Race Report

Justin Labonte, driver of the U.S. Coast Guard Shield of Freedom Chevrolet, will make his 72nd NASCAR Busch Series start when the green flag drops for the O’Reilly Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, November 5th.

LABONTE ON TEXAS... “Going home is always fun. You get to see your friends, and family. I hope that we can give them a good show. I've only been to Texas twice before this weekend, but when you go to Texas you know you are going to see a good race. Earlier this season we qualified the best we have there, unfortunately we did not have the finish in the race that we were looking for. Harold (Holly-crew cheif) has brought a lot to this team since then. Over the past few months the team has come together, and our finishes are starting to prove how good we can be. After the past two finishes we have had I think that this team has all the confidence they need to get another Top-15 finish or better this weekend. I hope that we can give my hometown crowd a great race and another great finish.”

TEXAS NOTES OF INTEREST

  • Labonte has two prior starts at Texas Motor Speedway. Earlier this season Labonte scored his best starting position during his first visit to Texas. He is still looking for a Top-10 finish in Texas. The past two weekends have given Labonte two consecutive Top-15 finishes. The U.S. Coast Guard team is looking for its first Top-Ten finish at Texas Motor Speedway in the O’Reilly Challenge in front of Labonte’s hometown crowd.
  • The team will utilize chassis number 304 for this weekend’s event.
