Robert Pressley Quotes:
On Richmond: "A lot of people consider Richmond to be the
most-perfect racetrack in the Busch Series, and I agree. It's one of the
few places we go that has everything. You have to be fast down the
straightaways, but you have to drive it like a short track. The car is
important because handling is so important, but a lot of that is in the
driver's hands. If you bring a speedway car and a short track mentality,
you should be fine."
On the season: "There are some pretty good tracks in our limited
schedule, but none are more fun than Richmond. You're always chasing the
track because it changes throughout the race. For a driver, it means you
have to be able to make a lot of adjustments with the way you get into a
corner, and the way you exit. The best part is, it's not one of those
follow-the-leader tracks. If you're only going to make selected starts,
you want them to be at tracks like Richmond."
Crew Chief Dan Deeringhoff Quote:
On Richmond: "There's nothing better than being able to turn Robert
loose at a track like Richmond. We don't have to worry about points or
anything like that, so we have weeks to get a car ready and when we get
there, we race hard and have fun. We've spent a lot of attention in our
preparation in getting the car to turn in the corners. You want the car
to launch off the fourth turn for the run down the front straightaway,
and you want it to have a lot of grip when it comes off Turn 2. Most of
the trouble at Richmond happens in the second turn because it's so easy
to bounce the car off the outside wall."
