Emerson Radio 250 - Erin Crocker Post-Race Quotes

ERIN CROCKER, DRIVER OF THE NO. 6 HUNGRY DRIVERS DODGE CHARGER RACE NOTES

NOTE: Crocker was involved in an incident on lap 125 that ended her Busch Series debut early.

What happened out there?
"I have no idea what happened. I felt like I got a little loose then I overcorrected and that’s what sent me down the track. I feel badly. I apologize to the guys who were racing me. At the first we seemed to get shuffled back a little but once I got in line and seemed to get in the rhythm we had some good laps. I felt like we were getting comfortable and just trying to hold my line and have a good clean race.

"I'm okay. I made a mistake and I feel badly that I took some other people out. I'm just trying to learn. And sometimes it's hard to learn out here. We'll be back at Dover and I'll have my head up high again there.

"To come out here today and put on the display I did, I'm not very proud of myself. I guess it's part of the learning curve. We'll just go to Dover and start a whole new race and a whole new day."

Describe your day?
"We started in the back and went a lap down pretty early. Then we got shuffled back on those restarts, just trying not to get in the way of the lead cars. I felt like it was getting better and our lap times were improving and I could get behind some leaders and follow them and we could stay with them. I was feeling pretty comfortable. I'm disappointed, obviously, I don't know what else to say. I feel bad, I wish it didn't happen and that I was still out there. There's nothing I can do but learn from what happened and go to Dover."

RAY EVERNHAM, PRESIDENT AND CEO, EVERNHAM MOTORSPORTS

"We all knew she had a lot to learn about racing. She could drive the car at speed, she ran in her own line and when she wasn't in traffic she could run top-15 speeds. We know it's going to be a learning process. I hate that she got crashed, but there's a lot of crashes on the short tracks. All in all, I thought she gained a lot, and expect that every time we see her she will get better and better."
